NOTE

1. The hills of Chasambali are represented by F1821. They form a semi-circular ring with Nesson (F1817) more or less at the center. In Simpson [1981], 166, 'H 26 Chasambali (Kephalovrysi)' we read this: '...a very important settlement, on either side of the spring Kephalovryso, on the eastern edge of Larisa plain, a kilometre to northeast of the village of Chasambali, to the east of the quarries on the lower slopes of Mt. Mopsion.'. The town of Chasambali is at F1816. A kilometer to the NE from Chasambali puts us high up on the slopes of the hill. This is possible but after looking into Heurtley and Skeat [1930], p. 2, fig 1 I see that they located 'Chasambali' at approximately here: 39.688424, 22.505472. Moving one km. at 45 degrees (NE) from that point brings us to a low hill at 39.696129, 22.515565. Their label for this spot appears to read 'Early - Mid Bronze Age Site'. I do not see much evidence of major springs there. Nor do they appear to be 'east of the quarries on the lower slopes of Mt. Mopsion'. The user should keep other possibilities in mind such as 39.700687° N, 22.567099° E which fits some of Simpson's criteria but does not agree with Heurtley et al.'
