NOTE

1. Simpson [1981], 199, 'Kallithies: Eremokastro' reports a cemetery at 'Trauni'. Trauni/Traganou/Τραούνου is the name given to the slopes and the beach of the southwest Eremokastro massif. I have included this site even though Simpson thinks that Mycenaean claims for it are doubtful. For more see Memorie dell'Instituto storico archaeologico di Rodi, Vol. 2 (1938), p. 51. The caves which are here (helpful user-submitted photographs in Google Earth) may be the locations of the supposed burials.
