1. Building. JHS[1951], 247 ' ..., with traces of a building which may have been a temple, at Volissòs on one of the promontories north of the modern landing stage.'2. Pottery. Boardman [1980], 32 'At Volissos in the north-west, reputed home of the poet Homer, ... there is also Mycenaean and archaic pottery.'
3. Sherds. Simpson [1981], 206 'The upper surface of the hill (about 150 m. east to west by 125 m.) was in 1960 seen to be sparsely covered in ancient sherds.'
