1. Simpson [1981] and Simpson and Dickinson [1979] distinguish between the tombs at 'Lapoutsi' (ca. 200 m. E of the acropolis) and 'Chamolia' which is 'further to the east'. The marker designates the center of a large funerary complex which consisted (Privitera [2013] 150) of about 40 chamber tombs: 'Allo stato attuale delle ricerche, la necropoli si compone di una quarantina di tombe a camera.'
