NOTES

1. From Howell's description (HOW, 91) I can only conclude that this church of Ayios Konstandinos may no longer exist. There is no church structure 200 m. to the north of the crossroads of Stadhion. Perhaps Howell meant the church at 37.461976°, 22.430359° (F2689) which is nearly 500 m. from the crossroads. I do not think so. He provides a photograph of Ayios Konstandinos (Plate 38c) and while it bears a resemblance to F2689 it also has a tower on the W end which the church at F2689 does not have. I have placed the marker 200 m north of the main intersection of the town as Howell requires.

2. Simpson and Dickinson [1979] 78 give the position as ' ... a low mound at the N end of Stadhion.'
