1. Simpson [2018] 318 reminds us: "No certainly prehistoric sherds were found at the Dardiza site."
2. Dardiza as Homeric Thryum: This is the account in Simpson [2018] 317-318. The Homeric name of 'Thryum' (Θρύον) was thought (Strabo 8.3.24) to be Epitalion (Simpson idem). Ancient Epitalion is securely identified with the modern Dardiza whose position is known (Meyer, E. 1957. Neue Peloponnesische Wanderungen, 60 and Messenia I, 228).
