NOTES

1. The National Road has two underpasses in the vicinity of Proskynas. I have chosen the one on the west although it does not quite conform to what Kramer-Hajos has told us (p. 49). The underpass on the east seems to agree better with KH's instructions but neither Mitrou nor Gaidaronisi can be seen from the final destination (at 38.617912° N, 23.179272° E). The reader should, however, regard that as an alternate possibility. The AR [1998] 75 simply says '..., near the Tragana tolls.' which are at 38.617714° N, 23.143601° E.
