NOTE
1. Under the name 'Arethousa' Sackett [1966] 59, '43. Chalkis: Arethousa' is referring to a large area in southern Chalkis with a wide variety of finds. The marker itself is placed on the Spring of Arethousa. The rock-cut stairway (C) is at F3706 and graves (C?) are at F3701. Various cemetery complexes continue to at least as far south as Valtos (F3758).
