NOTE
1. I do not know the location of Zavvou's 'Tsoukalas' and the marker placement is notional. Dr. Zavvou has it on the 'flat summit of a low mound ... on the north-western side of the modern village of Gouves'. Hondius and Hondius locate 'Tsoukala' 'half an hour to the north of the village where there is a ruined church with foundations of brick which might possibly date from Roman times, ...'. I have placed the marker to the NE of the village where there appears to be a low mound and, nearby, the ruins of some building which could conceivably be the ruins of a church. But this is pure fancy on my part. I find no other mentions of this place in the literature.
