GENERAL SITE TYPE Settlement

TYPE

1.    Settlement.   Simpson [1981], 85    '..some Mycenaean sherds were found, and it seems that the prehistoric settlement continued under the houses and gardens of the village, so that a fairly large Mycenaean settlement is indicated.'
2.    Settlement.   Howell [1970], 92    '...were found a few late Middle Helladic ... and some Mycenaean sherds ... The settlement probably continues under the houses and gardens of the present village.'
3.    Sherds.   Simpson and Dickinson [1979], 77    'On the E and SE terraces of the long ridge on which stands the village of Vounon, on the NE edge of Lake Taka, a few MH and LH sherds were found.'
