GENERAL SITE TYPE  Chamber Tomb

TYPE

1.    Chamber Tomb.   Vlasaki [1991], 492    'La tombe à chambre la plus éloignée vers le Sud a été découverte en 1983, ...'

PERIOD (High Chronology)

1. Late Minoan III: (1420 BC - 1075 BC)
    a.    Vlasaki [1991]: 489, Implied, p. 489: '..., les tombes MR III ...'

NOTES

1.  Placement based on the map in Vlasaki [1991], 488, fig. 1, no. 6.

2.  Notable for the discovery here of a larnax, the only one known in the various necropolises in Chania, decorated with stylized octopi. If I'm reading Dr. Vlasaki correctly this was a true bathtub used as a sarcophagus. A picture may be found in Vlasaki [1991] here.
