NOTE

1. Sjögren and Pendlebury give slightly different directions. Sjögren, 123 says ' ... 1 km. southeast of the modern town of Kastelli, on the path that ascends towards Psychro and Lasithi, ...' while Pendlebury, 80 gives the position as ' ..., twenty five minutes to the East of Kastelli, lies a little way up the path which ascends to Psychro and Lasithi.' I have tried to follow Sjögren but the reader must exercise care in finding this spot.
