NOTES
1. Although the name of 'Phalasarna' is pre-Greek the city itself dates from the Classical period and so out of scope for this atlas. These pithos burials are, however, Archaic and so are included. For a synopsis of the city's history see Lauffer [1999] 533, s.v. 'Phlasarna' or in Myers, loc. cit. Also in Stillwell et al. [1976], s.v. 'PHALASARNA'. Stillwell is online here..
2. The pithos burials are described in Myers et al. [1992] 246 as ' ... 100 m south and 300 m east of fortification walls.' The walls are at F4582 (and see Figure 34.1 in Myers et al., 244) I used the southern end of these walls at 35.513174° N, 23.569727° E as my starting point and measured out the required distances S and E. The location intended appears to be the eastern end of a long and stony field.
