GENERAL SITE TYPE  Tomb

TYPE

1.    Tomb.   Goodison and Guarita [2005], 171    'The Mesara-type tombs are circular stone-built structures a number of which show traces of an original corbelled 'tholos' roof.'

PERIOD (High Chronology)

1. Early Minoan II: (2650 BC - 2200 BC)
    a.    Goodison and Guarita [2005]: 194, 'Dating: EMII, ... '

2. Early Minoan III: (2200 BC - 2100 BC)
    a.    Goodison and Guarita [2005]: 194, ' ..., ?EMIII, ... '

3. Middle Minoan IA: (2100 BC - 1900 BC)
    a.    Goodison and Guarita [2005]: 194, ' ..., MMIA-B, ... '

4. Middle Minoan IB: (1900 BC - 1850 BC)
    a.    Goodison and Guarita [2005]: 194, ' ..., MMIA-B, ... '

5. Middle Minoan IIA: (1850 BC - 1775 BC)
    a.    Goodison and Guarita [2005]: 194, ' ..., MMIIA; ... '

NOTE

1.   The marker was placed by charting a route 800 m. S from Vasilika Anogeia. At F4709 there is a cistern (which is what I suppose Goodison and Guarita [2005] 194 mean by a 'water tank'), clearly visible in Google Street View. The next left begins just after the cistern.
