GENERAL SITE TYPE Settlement

TYPE

1.    Settlement.   Leekley and Efstratiou [1980], 99    'W.A. Heurtley of the British School excavated remains of a Neolithic and Early Bronze Age settlement on the south bank of the Haliakmon by the bridge across the river in 1930.'
2.    settlement.   Eder [2008], 121    The goods found here ' ... rather belong to the inventory of a settlement (or sanctuary).'

PERIOD (High Chronology)

1. Early Bronze Age: (3200 BC - 2100 BC)
    a.    Leekley and Efstratiou [1980]: 99, ' ... the settlement was eventually abandoned in the Early Bronze Age.'

2. LH IIIB: (1320 BC - 1190 BC)
    a.    Eder [2008]: 121, 'Fragments of LH IIIB pottery belong to craters, skyphoi and a ceramic stand.'

NOTES

1.  Dr. Eder, p. 122, says "The high percentage of Mycenaean pottery, the presence of Mycenaean swords and daggers as well as the fragments of hollow wheel made figures which were found in Ano Komi and Kolitsaki near Servia illustrates a strong impact of Mycenaean material culture which is otherwise unknown from Macedonia in LH IIIA-B."
