NOTE

1. The ancient Akanthos is located at F6021. And while there is considerable overlap the modern town of Ierissos was centered just to its north, at F6022, until the earthquake of 1932 levelled the town. After that Ierissos was rebuilt in its present location in the valley (F6023). The cemetery of Akanthos is located in the center of modern Ierissos and is sign-posted.
