NOTE
1. Fossey [1990] 85 describes a ridge of Palaikastro/Palaiokhora. This ridge is F6195. On or around that ridge are ancient finds although mostly historic period. A fort with a circuit wall on this ridge can no longer be traced. The village of Villovo has disappeared; perhaps its remains lie somewhere under all of this olive tree mono-cropping. I have placed the marker on a modern monastery which might correspond to Fossey's Monastery of Ayios Vasilios and, more, because it appears to be just across the road from what appears to be a substantial spring. This marker represents an area more than it does a specific site and other interpretations and placements are possible. The Palaiokastro/Palaiokhora site may very possibly be connected to the chamber tomb found at C5164.
