PERIOD (High Chronology)

1. Grotta-Pelos: (3000 BC - 2600 BC)
    a.    Simpson and Dickinson [1979]: 330, 'GP ... '
    b.    Renfrew [2011]: 11408, ' ..., yielding finds of the Grotta-Pelos culture ... '

2. Phylakopi I: (2200 BC - 2000 BC)
    a.    Simpson and Dickinson [1979]: 330, ' ...; an apparently Phyl I sherd has also been found.'
    b.    Renfrew [2011]: 11408, 'On my visit on 18/7/63 I found a sherd which seems to be of the Phylakopi I culture.'

NOTES

1.  Page numbers in Renfrew [2011] are, in actuality, location numbers in the electronic edition, ISBN 978-1-78570-773-5.

2.  The origin of Renfrew's coordinate system is the Phylakopi site on Melos. This is his 000000 point. Using the coordinates he supplies for Keli (Kindle position 11406, no. 21. In M.A.P. C7161) which are 852222 I calculated a location 85200 m E and 22200 m. N of the zero point. This results in a calculated point for Keli of 36.949122° N, 25.457661° E which is just E of the N-S running Viglastouri Ridge. The actual location is probably associated with the relatively well-watered high valley just a few hundred m. to the E. I have marked the W edge of that valley about 250 m. to the E of the computed location. Needless to say this cannot be very accurate.
