2. The difficulty here, as in much of Greek toponomy, is in the transliteration. I have seen the following forms: Phionda (Simpson and Dickinson [1979] 331), Phiondas (Wong [2020] also Legaki [2017] 219), Philonda (Renfrew [2011] 11422, no. 27 also Renfrew [1972], 519, no. 27), Phiodas (BCH [1949] (73), p. 533), and Fiodes (Topoguide). I have placed the marker based on Topoguide which shows a small named area, Fiodes, here. This location agrees with Wong [2020]. The precise location is not known to me but within 500 m. of the marker is my best guess.
3. Dr. Legaki discusses each of the seven cycladic figures found in Phionda starting here at p. 220. Her valuable survey of the literature starts on p. 235.
4. Legaki [2017] 219, Fig. 16.1 is a map on which the location of Phionda is shown at approx. 36.995254 N, 25.465489 E. She quotes a letter from Kontoleon which says that the site of the discovery is one and one half hours from the nearest village which is Filoti. (position in e-book: 6536). In the Mycenaean Atlas Project Filoti is F6366. She herself visited the find site which she describes as "Phiondas, over an hour from Filoti, is a remote area, difficult of access even nowadays, and the Houzouris family farm is in the middle of nowhere." (6643) The map point that Legaki supplied seems not to accord with these time constraints because, by foot, it is more than three hours from Filoti. Nonetheless a location for Phionda in the southern end of the valley stretching S from Filoti is not unreasonable.
