NOTES
1. Philaniotou [2017] provides a detailed catalogue of the figures beginning at section 7500.
2. Philaniotou (position 7477 in the Kindle edition) gives Tsikniades' location as "west of the village of Kato Sangri, on the southeast slope of a rocky hill that dominates the largest and most fertile valley of Naxos." Also "The Tsikniades cemetery extends over a long, narrow strip of land (length 140m, max. width 20m), with a northeast - southwest orientation (Fig. 18.1). On the west side it is bordered by a rocky outcrop, while on the east there is an abrupt drop, 20 m in height, to the arable land below." The hill in question is probably what I have called '356 meter Hill' at F6367. I have attempted to find a place in this general area that corresponds to Philaniotou's description and to the photograph Fig. 18.1 (section 7491 in the Kindle edition).
